Laneige Water Bank Gel Cream Featured

I did share the review of Laneige Water Bank Essence Ex in the last post. This is really an important step that you need to have after toner and before proceeding to further steps. It acts as the serum to provide concentrated drops empowered by an enormous amount of potent ingredients. That means the product is inclined to nourish skin deep inside and settle down the culprits notoriously causing skin misery, such as dehydration, dullness and premature aging.

However, the essence can’t give an ultimate protection that tends to bring about a moisture shield against the sabotage of environmental stress. As I mentioned in the previous post, moisturizing cream necessarily works with the serum to reinforce the barrier function. Then, I’m gonna show my review of Laneige Water Bank Gel Cream I’ve been using right after the serum for nearly a month. Another version is to give you more lubricating factor upon the top layer of skin.

1. About the Product

About Laneige Water Bank Gel Cream

The signature formulation of gel cream takes account of Hydro Ionized Mineral Water and Moisturizing BiogeneTM. These do their jobs to mainly restore the emollient producing genes and at the same time, enhance protective barrier of the outermost layer with great hydrating content. There is no chance that the external aggressors are able to leach away skin’s natural moisture. Plus, It promises to deliver a long-lasting hydration for all day.

Amazingly, infused with the high-quality botanical juice of the Winter CyPress Polysaccharide for soothing and cooling properties. According to the IEC Korea, a subsidiary of IEC Group conducting consumer tests for dermatological and ophthalmologic products, the cream is clinically proven to be capable of reducing temperature of skin surface by 2.4°C. This is such a fascinating thing the brand brought to our life, ladies!

Similar to the Water Bank Essence Ex, the cream contains the extract of nutritional Chenopodium Quinoa Seed. the ingredient powerhouses a ton of vitamins, proteins and amino acids, all of which incredibly replenish and repair skin, but also encounter oxidative stress. To substantially increase the moisture retention, the product consists of vegetable oil of Olive derived Squalane. It seems to be a god-sent skincare ingredient, resembling the human lipid to strengthen the stratum corneum as the barrier function composed of essential lipids. That can vigorously prevent transepidermal water loss as well as make skin improve skin texture to become firmer and suppler.

It contains Ceramide, which is an effective anti-aging element to give a youthful looking skin. Also, creates lipid molecules to trap water in skin’s upper layer and dampens its’ sensitivity to perils of environment. There is included Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, which has a consistency same as Jojoba oil with moisturizing, age-defying and antibacterial activities. And, Tillandsia extract and Sodium Hyaluronate together help to result in skin’s enduring hydration for the whole day.

Moreover, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Water empowers with excessive sebum controlling and mild exfoliating activity. Lastly, many chemical active compounds work as preservatives, conditioning and emulsifying agents and fragrance.

2. My Thoughts

Somehow, the Gel Cream is not much different from the Essence Ex I think. It has a pale, milky color with a consistency very gel-like. Compare to the serum, the product is like having a little bit more lubricating and thickening factors. But, it doesn’t turn you to find uncomfortably heavy or sticky if that makes any senses to you. For Laneige Water Sleeping Mask folk, don’t be hesitate to adopt this “newbie”, dollies! They’re kinda alike, except the Gel Cream is much thinner and doesn’t leave soaking sensation all over the face.

Laneige Water Bank Gel Cream tested on my hand

I really love the way it looks, so beautifully velvety and shiny. Once blending onto skin, it seems to be effortlessly sleek and widespread with a few drops as well as swiftly deliver a glowing complexion. Speaking of the cooling effect, the cream indeed does have that. However, if you ask me whether I can feel extraordinary or yell out loud about 2.4°C decrease onto my skin, gotta say “well, not really.” To be fair, The cream provides a subtle, mild cooling and relaxing sensation, but not very long-lasting tho. This is still adorable!

Furthermore, it genuinely boosts hydration as if my skin drinks up lots of water. You may find slightly tacky on the surface, but soon after, it utterly sinks down and skin tends to be moisturized and refreshing without greasiness. While heading outdoor or exposing to the sun, it didn’t cause me struggling with oily traces, over sweating or noticeably strange sheen. I can guarantee the product won’t clog your pores or arouse breakouts.

My skin is combination, prone to dry with redness, some flaky, scaly patches and pimples. Breakout usually comes to me at least once a week if I’m in the period or a stressful time. I’ve been applying the cream after the essence regularly every morning, even during crappy days, it didn’t aggravate my condition. Rather, my skin visibly improves to be less dull and tight, additionally, smoother and softer. Flakiness and dryness gradually couldn’t creep into. It actually plumps my skin up.

Laneige Water Bank Gel Cream and Water Bank Essence EX

Majority of skin types may fall in love with the product. It’s a bit thicker than the Essence Ex, I mean the serum, otherwise, you still feel gentle and lightweight. Oily, acne prone folk can go for the Gel Cream, which has salicylic acid’s property from the Chamaecyparis Obtusa Water to manage overactive sebaceous glands. Simultaneously, speeds up and balances out skin’s water retention for a healthy look.

Obviously, it’s ideal to poor skins wrestling with low hydration. Otherwise, Sadly, dreamers who suffer from dreadfully flaky, scaly problem, gotta admit this is not the best choice for you. The gel cream is really hydrating, but not able to totally lock skin in moisture thorough 24 hours, mentioned in the product description. My skin is more likely to be a little dry after 13 hours, however, it still looks naturally radiant. I’d like to apply the gel cream in the morning and then, switch to moisturizer with much creamier base before bed because temperature goes down badly at night. Also, this may be one of the besties that make my day in the hot weathers. In winter, I may have to seek another moisturizer having a bit denser consistency, rich in moisture.

I gave the product to my mom, she thought it was really hydrating, but honestly, not as cooling and relaxing as the Essence Ex. Plus, everytime she applies the gel cream, for some reason, her skin has slight itchiness initially, after a few minutes, it’s gone. My mom gets a type of mature, dry skin with enlarged pores. To avoid unexpected consequences, you can try a small amount onto jawline areas and leave it for a while. Next, the product has a nice, flowery scent, not harsh or lingering.

3. Packaging

About Laneige Water Bank Gel Cream

Housed in a ocean blue glass jar, polished and elegant with white texts in the front and at the back. I prefer the glass bottle with a pump of the Water Bank Essence Ex, it doesn’t let the fluid mess and spill around regardless its’ positions. Very clean and safe inside. The jar may be uneasy when steeply holding it or laying upside down, the gel can smear underneath the plastic lid. There is a small spoon going along with the jar so you don’t need to dip your fingers into the cream. Although the jar isn’t very big or heavy, however, not convenient for travelling.

4. Rating 8/10

Rating 8/10

Overall, the moisturizer is genuinely nice to most of skin types. I think I’m gonna keep using it to see more improvements onto my complexion. Regard to extremely dry skins, you can try the Water Bank Moisture Cream with thicker, higher moisturizing factor. I’d give it 8 out of 10.
