Top 10 Best Foundations for Dry Skin Featured

Most foundations are multitasking to give us good sun protection, beautiful complexion correction, weightless coverage and great hydration. Those sweet talkers are meant to impart immaculate canvas, making us feel like we are having brand-new looking skin. However, are your foundations really mighty enough to keep nasty cracks and scaly patches at bay?

The perils of the environment seem not to stop stripping our beloved skin away, we get jacked up and disheartened even more. If you are on the hunt for something to redeem your trust, let’s hop into my collection of top 10 best foundations for dry skin.

1. Giorgio Armani – Designer Shaping Cream Foundation SPF 20

Giorgio Armani - Designer Shaping Cream Foundation SPF 20
This baby is a type of high-end, delivering plush consistency that effortlessly glides and diffuses on skin surface. Extraordinarily cut out for dry skin, it smooths out imperfections leaving a celestial sheen, dry flakes no longer drive you nuts.

The product’s creamy base tends to vigorously seal skin in moisture and diminish dull, caked-on feelings. It does not slide around and aggravate greasy traces either, except for those who have oily skin. Very buildable giving sheer to medium coverage that goes into skin naturally for an airbrushed looking complexion. Layer more for full coverage.

“Packed with luxurious double-silk blend cream and fibers as well as formulated with sculpting oils to nourish and sleek skin texture.” Incredibly sumptuous on skin for the whole day, the product is an all-time choice of beauty gurus. It helps neutralize discolouration, but also fill in fine lines and wrinkles. Then, I’d recommend it to ladies who are plagued by major flaws, especially aging signs.

I have heard a lot of compliments about its high moisturizing power and silky texture to the touch. However, you may have an issue with the packaging design. Comes in a heavy, twist-off jar, which would end up being quite contaminated and the least favourite. It’s more likely to mess up all over the lid and you may have to dip your fingers in the foundation. This probably provokes propagative microorganisms in the product. I have preferred foundations in squeezy tubes or with pump dispensers. They are more sanitary options.

[ads_inline_post]Anyway, by the time you put your fingers into the jar and tap it on your face, remember to always clean your hands. On the other hand, I usually save a tiny moisturizer spoon to scoop a decent amount on the back of my hand. Then, use my clean fingers to do a few dabs of the product across the main areas of my face. The tip prevents my finger filth from spoiling my entire jar.

2. Koh Gen Do – Maifanshi Moisture Foundation

Koh Gen Do - Maifanshi Moisture Foundation
I used to wish that I would have a shot at taking a tour of Tokyo to relish Japanese foods, Kimono and Kabuki. Now, I have one more thing that I look up to. Japanese skincare and makeup have been way reputable over the globe for years. Koh Gen Do is one of the most iconic beauty brands in Japan. Renowned for its innovative, high performance and eco-friendly makeup products. My discovery for dry skin is the Maifanshi Moisture Foundation of Koh Gen Do.

Infused with skin-pampering ingredients from plant extracts that plump skin texture with high definition filming and restore lustre on the complexion. The concept is to present your skin genuinely glorious and healthy, instead of slathering thick, cakey coverage. Its creamy coating with moisture of liquid stops aggressive factors outwardly leaching skin away and balances out skin’s water reservoir.

As one of the celebrity makeup artists’ faves, it imparts impeccable canvas for a camera-ready look. Social media has been getting the scoop on this. Stevie Martin, a makeup artist for Hunger Game: Mockingjay-Part 2, says it’s “the best for both male and female talent” because “it translates as real skin in filming.” Meanwhile, meet Liv Tyler, a nostalgic fashion and beauty cult of the 90s, notes that Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Moisture Foundation is an indispensable part of her makeup routine on off-duty days.

Likewise, the Dark Angel’s heroine, Jessica Alba, was upfront about her favourite foundation, saying “With my dry skin, powder can get cakey – or worse, just settle into every little line, I’m completely obsessed with Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Moisture Foundation.”

The sheer coverage effortlessly melts into skin as well as delivers a feather-light sensation and flexible, velvety texture throughout the day. Formulated with light-diffusing pigments that minimize the appearance of pores, wrinkles and dark spots. Likewise, it comes housed in a red tube, which is lightweight and neat, does not take too much space in your kit. You can carry it along and touch it up whenever you want.

3. Clinique – BIY Blend It Yourself Pigment Drops

Clinique - BIY Blend It Yourself Pigment Drops
It’s about conflating pure pigments with an emollient. Then, functions as a tinted moisturizer that not only relieves the bloody dryness, but also results in a light veil of color toning up the complexion with a first drop. Two to three drops for medium to high coverage. “Transform your moisturizers into a BB, CC or fuller-coverage foundation.”

This brilliant idea makes you a “makeup artist” to tailor your foundations. It works on your coveted finish (dewy, matte or semi-matte), hydration and coverage. Thus, we don’t have to stick with one type of foundation all the time. I can switch to a matte finish to mitigate the sheen and greasiness during the damp summer month, otherwise, add more glow and moisture to skin in the cold winter.

Get it simple, pretties! Choose the right shade and favourite emollient that works effectively for your skin woes. For those who have overactive sebaceous glands, mix the BIY pigment drops with an oil-free, mattifying moisturizer.

In relation to very dry, flaky skin, super creamy moisturizer is definitely a top choice for ultimate replenishment to return radiance and suppleness. Incorporate the pigment drops with either the Clinique – Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief or the Clinique – Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ to provide a powerful foundation that wards off cracking and scaliness for the entire day.

The formula is very blendable into a variety of moisturizers, spreading evenly on the skin surface and neutralizing discolouration. However, you may need more than three drops for full coverage. That depends on how much you want it to obscure, like whopping zits, bumps or dark circles. Also, its coverage may come off quickly; unless you sweep on some setting powder. But, girls with very dry skin may utilize setting spray instead to avoid settling in scaly patches or caking up.

4. BareMinerals – Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 30

BareMinerals - Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 30
While being in the search for moisturizing foundations, can’t even forget to bring up BareMinerals – Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 30. The product won Allure and Glammy accolades of the best-tinted moisturizer in 2015 and 2016. Allegedly a 215% increase in skin hydration with noticeable improvements in skin texture after one week. The formula embodies skincare and makeup in one act, it could be your tinted moisturizer, foundation, CC or BB.

Long ago, I was suffering serious dehydration with dry flakes and cracks everywhere as I told you in several earlier posts. And, I bought this goodie on a whim, it shockingly turned out to be fantastic. Check out my full review to see whether it’s worth the hype!

Its gel-like consistency is inclined to sleek the skin surface, whilst quenching the thirst. It causes neither a thick nor sticky feeling. Rather, it’s super lightweight and fresh, quickly setting in place and leaving a moist, gleaming complexion. The foundation is more likely to sheer out and work as a colour corrector to blur dark spots for a natural, velvety look. You can do some more coats to layer more coverage. Easy to build up without blotchiness.

Highly recommend this on a daily basis since it’s such a bonus to add a broad spectrum (physical) sun protection every morning. Re-apply at midday as a sunscreen to foil the damage of UV rays. That is literally cut out for on-the-go in a clean, compact tube.

To deal with blistering lumps, blemishes, large acne scars or hyperpigmentation, dab on a bit concealer and then, press over some translucent powder. Moreover, the product is clinically tested, hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, oil-free and free of fragrance.

5. Chantecaille – Future Skin Oil Free Gel Foundation

Chantecaille - Future Skin Oil Free Gel Foundation
If you are living your life under minimal and no-makeup makeup creed, then pay a visit to Chantecaille – Future Skin Oil Free Gel Foundation. The formula’s signature is that it “contains 60% charged water and seaweed,” laying a refreshing and ultralight coating.

It’s rather sheer to medium coverage which things, like freckles are still peeking through, as though you are wearing no makeup. This is ideal for folks who had found adverse to typical foundations, maybe they were too creamy, heavy and clinging. Or, Some dollies dwell in hot, 100% humid weather, like tropical, yet find troubled by skin dehydration or dryness.

Enriched with plant-derived ingredients, like Rosemary Leaf Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Arnica Montana Flower Extract and Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Extract. All of those boast soothing, anti-aging, hydrating and anti-inflammatory properties to make your complexion more awake with a sense of calm and natural luminosity on top. Furthermore, its oil-free base helps reduce greasiness and overwhelming shine.

I think the majority of skin types will be into it, like normal/combination, dry, oily, mature and sensitive. Its plush consistency is super blendable and buildable, along with an instant boost of hydration, smoothing out dry patches and fine lines. The foundation focuses on your skin well-being more than trying to mask things completely.

However, There are a couple of cons to this. Not like the others, which we went through, the product does not have the infusion of UV filters. So, necessarily do an extra step of sunscreen prior to applying the foundation. Plus, housed in a little frosted-glass pot, which makes you dip in your fingers and put on your face over and over again breeding bacteria, as I mentioned before. This seems to keep boggling my mind. So, either use a moisturizer spoon or clean fingers to take your product.

6. Mary Kay – CC Cream Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15

Mary Kay - CC Cream Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15
Not many of us are very willing to afford that much money on makeup stuff. If you are a type of frugal who cuts expenses to the bone or only spends money on necessity, at least Mary Kay – CC Cream Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15 will be there for you. The product delivers “8 benefits in one step” and “easy complexion correction with a formula that acts like makeup and is formulated like skincare.”

Dyed with mineral-based pigments in a flimsy, silky coating, very buildable to naturally disguise dark spots, blemishes, redness and other patchy areas. In addition, it souped up with brightening and anti-oxidizing activities from vitamin E and botanical extracts. That alleviates dullness, irritation and worn-out signs due to external exposure as well as gives back your vigorous, youthful complexion in a light-reflecting finish.

[ads_inline_post]In regard to its moisturizing content, the formula contains humectants to provide “10 hour-hydration” without heavy, sticky feelings. It does not pronounce fine lines and pores. Exceptionally designed for heading outdoor, it comprises the Willow Bark extract as a natural resource of salicylic acid. This helps your skin stay fresh and free from excessive oil production or greasy traces at the end of the day.

More importantly, the CC cream acts as a sunscreen with the broad spectrum shield (SPF 15) against UVA and UVB rays. Suitable for all skin types, I’d like to suggest it to dry skin which also gets acne-prone and sensitive more often. It’s non-comedogenic and dermatologist-tested for skin irritancy and allergy, in the absence of oil and fragrance.

7. NARS – Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30

NARS - Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30
Quite similar to the BareMinerals Complexion Rescue, NARS – Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 is “a lightweight tinted moisturizer” with potent humectants. “Infused with lush, botanicals and ingredients to immediately help thirsty skin feel hydrated.” On top of that, Kopara from French Polynesia and mineral-rich seawater provide replenishment to your skin, so that you can find soft and bouncy to the touch.

It’s inclined to translucently transport skin that appears more vibrant and glowing. At once, the product delivers a sheer veil of colour, hiding discolouration, redness and dark spots, but also giving a resilient looking complexion. It blends and builds splendidly, taking out the appearance of premature aging signs, like wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, sagginess and enlarged pores. The product literally gets your skin an instant makeover that is almost bare, yet younger and livelier.

I love the fact that the tinted moisturizer as a multitasker brings us broad-spectrum SPF 30, acutely crucial to defend skin against sunburn and cancer. I’d highly recommend using it on a day to day basis for all skin types. The foundation promises not to drive us nuts by caked-on or sticky sensations, it’s oil-free, synthetic fragrance-free, non-comedogenic and dermatologist-tested. There is no need to worry that it will gunk up your pores, trigger breakouts or aggravate redness, even dry skin confronts those damn problems sometimes.

8. Milk Makeup – Sunshine Skin Tint SPF 30

Milk Makeup - Sunshine Skin Tint SPF 30
You may have got bored of foundations in tubes and jars, all of which keep popping up in the article. Not surprised at all, since they seem to be the stereotypes of foundation packaging designs or containers. Well, this time is gonna be way different than before. The product comes in a rollerball applicator. Click the button at the bottom and let the foundation come out. You can make it glide onto skin real quick and then, spread out all over your face without messing up your fingers. Very fitting for on-the-go use.

The idea is pretty innovative and sanitary. You may find it quite annoyed at times, the button and container easily get broken though. I’m still personally into the squeezy tube, which may be better than the rest. Despite that, what I’m concerned about here is the formula, does it work for dry skin?

Milk Makeup – Sunshine Skin Tint SPF 30 is “a weightless, sheer liquid foundation that hydrates skin while providing buildable, natural-looking coverage and sun protection.” The product guarantees to lock in moisture and you are left with a healthy, dewy complexion. Its nourishing formula is a blend of avocado, mandarin orange, grapeseed, jojoba seed and olive oils, all of which are the powerhouses of hydrating, age-defying and soothing properties. Then, that makes it amicable toward skin.

Stress-free to diffuse and build seamlessly. It does not matter if you like using fingers or you like using a makeup brush, their outcomes are pretty much the same. The product tends to brighten up skin tone and enhance skin texture. Plus, it gives light to medium coverage that some flaws are still able to shine through a little bit for a no-makeup makeup look. This allows skin to be comfortable and breathable during the daytime, with SPF 30, the Skin Tint also does its job as a sunscreen. It’s preservative-free, cruelty-free and 100% vegan.

9. La Mer – The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF 20

La Mer - The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF 20
Phew, it seems that we have almost finished the list. There is a story, an epic story, behind the name Lar Mer makes it legendary above all. Have you ever heard of Crème de la Mer (Cream of the Sea)? Introduced by Dr. Max Huber, a German aerospace physicist who accidentally suffered severe burns in a lab explosion in the 1950s, whilst working on a rocket stabilizer. After 12 years and 6,000 experiments, he invented an elixir, called the Miracle Broth by fermenting Macrocystis Pyrifera, a species of kelp, for three months.

Turned out that it astoundingly cured his wounds and recovered his skin leaving no scars with a beautiful radiance. Then, in the 1965s, Huber debuted his product, Crème de la Mer (Cream of the Sea), formulated with the Miracle Broth.

La Mer – The Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation SPF 20 is one of the brand’s flattering makeup babies to remarkably transform your skin with the Miracle Broth. It delivers an ultra-fresh, sultry consistency that is effortlessly slick on skin and lays weightless coverage. The formula is allegedly long-wearing with new colour capsule technology, holding up its true colour all day long, even in humidity.

Chiefly, speaking of the foundation’s certain cachet, it’s extraordinarily infused with the Miracle Broth (nutrient-rich sea kelp) and a bunch of other plant-derived ingredients. Rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, together boasting hydrating, healing, rejuvenating and antimicrobial energies. This revitalizes your skin and restores it to intact, lustrous health.

Aside from nourishing your largest organ, the product is inclined to refine pores and hide imperfections in a subtle way. Fitting for minimal makeup. It will neither cause chunky, sticky sensations nor cake up. Also, the product offers sun protection SPF 20 for your morning glory.
To get the most out of it, I love to take a little squirt on the back of my hand, use fingers to dot it all over my face and finally, diffuse it with a buffing foundation brush. I’m set.

10. Clé de Peau Beauté – Radiant Cream Foundation SPF 24

Clé de Peau Beauté - Radiant Cream Foundation SPF 24
My last but not least foundation for dry skin is Clé de Peau Beauté – Radiant Cream Foundation SPF 24. I’m also very willing to recommend folks who have premature aging or mature skin to use it. This amazing beautifier is key for a luminous, moist-looking complexion with its skin optimizing complex. The signature ingredient is Illuminating Complex EX, loaded with Golden Silk Essence, Japanese pearl element, Theanine (an extract of green tea leaves) and Scutellaria Baicalensis Extract.

Embrace your flaws with a luxurious, impeccable coating in a dewy finish for everyday glam. Simultaneously, it includes the antioxidants of Chestnut Rose Fruit Extract to combat free radicals and mitigate skin tiredness from environmental stress. The consistency is very lightweight and blends seamlessly in the act of obscuring dark spots and some other imperfections. But, you still see them peeking through, the concept is to create a naturally flawless look. Apply extra coats with a flat foundation brush for more coverage.

Incorporates “Silky Reflection Oil,” “MicroFacet Technology” and “Micro-Diffusion Reflecting Powder” in the product to sustain an optimal luster on your complexion throughout the day. Next, there are “Microwater Gel Emulsification, Marjoram Extract and S Hyaluronic Acid,” dampening the evaporation of water from the skin and ultimately binding in moisture. The unique, intricate formula intends to take great care of every part of our skin, this makes it such the bomb to take out dryness and scaliness.

Doing outdoor activities will not grease up your face and wear the colour away badly. The foundation’s Day-Matching Powder, Honeycombing Prevention Oil and Oil Absorbing Powder help control excessive oil production to keep makeup long-lasting and your complexion gracefully fresh and clean. With the broad-spectrum SPF 24, the product seems to be one of the holy-grail foundations.

We went through one by one and marked that these foundations are going to do wonders for our dry skin. Nevertheless, you should follow every step of your skincare ritual with cleanser, toner, serum and moisturizer beforehand. That assures your skin to be always ready for the glam.
