It’s very usual for girls to get a well-stocked makeup bag with a bunch of lipsticks, whether liquefied or bulleted, and make sure they’re all on-the-go. We might not be able to get enough with just one. A single lipstick will be never universal for all of us.

There are several makeup tricks these days, how to capture right shades that will be compatible with our skin tones or undertones. The most popular I guess is using the vein colors of your wrist. Well, but the reality seems not to always work out that way when it actually comes to our lips. Then, some that end up staying idly in our bag and reaching expiration, whereas the others are our all-time choices.

The NYX limited box gives me a couple of liquid lipsticks, one is a bright, bold red of the Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Kitten Heels. So stunning, I was literally impressed by its gorgeous pigment. However, another might be not going well on me this time. Let’s find out in my review of NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in Push-Up.

1. NYX Professional Makeup – Lip Lingerie

The Lip Lingerie line tends to provide an assortment of cool and warm shades, like pinks, greys, browns, reds and especially nudes. Designed with rich, creamy consistency that perfectly sculpts your lips with a silky matte finish.

About NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick

It’s common to find Isododecane in majority of lipstick formulas. The ingredient mostly functions as a solvent as well as a conditioner and texture enhancer. This improves spreadability and lightweight feelings of the product. Next, mineral oil (Paraffinum Liquidum) seems ominous when mentioned in terms of skincare. It’s highly emollient in order to result in a smooth, sultry texture, however more likely to precipitate clogged pores and breakouts.

Regarding lipstick, mineral oil helps to lock your lips in moisture and prevent a chapped appearance. Similarly, the lippie contains sunflower (Helianthus Annuus) seed oil, which boasts moisturizing properties to plump lips up. Included Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate is synthetically lipid-based as a conditioning, texture enhancing, thickening and binding agent. Mixed with Disteardimonium Hectorite, a vegetable-extracted suspending factor. It stabilizes and emulsifies other ingredients, but also controls the product’ viscosity.

Moreover, the formula consists of many other chemical ingredients. Polycyclopentadiene gives epilating and viscosity regulating activities. Tocopheryl Acetate comprises acetic acid and vitamin E as an antioxidant and preservative to minimize degradation of the formula due to sunlight exposure. Alumina, also called Aluminum Oxide, does its job as an anti-caking agent and absorbent. It removes the excess water within the ingredients in order to prolong the product’s preservability. The last preservative is Phenoxyethanol.

Dyed by mineral pigments (Titanium Dioxide and Iron Oxides) with opacifying effects and synthetic, FDA-approved colorants derived from petroleum or coal tar sources.

2. Moussey, Creamy & Long-wearing but Chemical-smelly

Push-Up is a deep brownish pink in an opaque, matte finish. I’m quite sure that the color is natural and nonchalant. But, it’s not very my type though. I would wish for a bit lighter color with more pink undertones in it, like dusty rose. The shade looks dark and dull, like a nude on me. My friend and I did a lipstick experimenting duo. We figured out Push-Up was shockingly stunning on her olive skin color, it looked like a peachy nude with a hint of pink. Anyway, this is just my tiny personal opinion, a lot of fair, porcelain dollies still find it fabulous.

NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick tested on my hand

The lipstick has noticeably moussey, creamy consistency with a dense, chunky texture. The coats literally glide on bare skin as well as bring about slippery and soft sensations. My lips flat-out feel pretty thick and heavy at the first few seconds. So far, it quickly sets in place and dries down, then, leaves an amazingly lightweight, feathery sensation. Gotta say, to me, the Lip Lingerie is so much different from the Suede Cream. Lip Lingerie liquid lipstick does not cause troublesome smudging and stickiness either. There is no need to worry about bleeding or feathering. I guess this is the most flattering about the Lip Lingerie, compared to the Suede Cream.

However, the product is not really blendable and buildable for seamless coverage. I try swiping back and ford and also, putting more layers on top, it’s more likely to result in patchiness and streaks. Do not press your lips while applying. If not, savage! That even adds up “wrinkles” and streaks on your pout. I guess this will be tough for girls who often deal with chapped lips. The lipstick tends to be very dry and horrendously sink into my lips’ lines and cracks after hours. Definitely, need to exfoliate and moisturize lips every time prior to applying the product. Speaking of which, I might pick the Suede Cream over it.

To be fair, the color payoff is splendid with one-swipe pigment. Plus, because of its non-smudging, it’s stress-free to neatly fill into my cupid’s bow and eventually, the whole pout. I think this is gonna be adored by girls who need something for their flirty dates. Good news is it’s fast dry and kiss transfer proof, sweeties! Nevertheless, the product is clumping, prone to clump on the tip of applicator and in the tube.

Talk about its staying power, the lipstick is indeed long-wearing for 7 to 8 hours. It’s not shabbily flaked off like many quick dry matte liquid lipsticks because of drinking and eating. But, meals with hot soup or soaked in oil may be big challenges. One more thing, I’m not a fan of its scent, it smells very chemical, similar to nail polish.

3. Packaging Design: Simple and Lightweight

The product comes to a transparent tube with the size and figure like many ordinary lipstick tubes’. It’s high and big enough to fit in my hand. As always, there is a doe foot applicator attached beneath the black lid. It’s long and slender with a quite pointed tip to give fairly precise applications.

4. My Rating 6/10: Worth to Try? Not Sure..

Rating 6/10

I’d say the lipstick maybe not perfect for me, from the color to the formula. My lips are type of dry, chapped lips, so this might be not comfortable to wear it daily. I’d give it 6 out of 10.

Hope my review is helpful somehow to give good information about the NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in Push-Up. I’d love to hear you out. That will be my honest pleasure. Thank you so much for your time!
