Our skin is delicate and inevitably struggles with different problems over the lifetime, such as acne vulgaris, excessive sebum, dryness, enlarged pores or wrinkles. To me, sensitive skin is such a pain in the ass. For some uncertain reasons, I used to undergo a long period of high sensitivity with noticeable redness, flakiness, pimples and irritation earlier this year.
It was so pity. In the adventure of seeking good skincare products that are supposed to live up to my expectation, I got numerous things that may help our girls flee away from the same situation as mine. I really hope so.
Let’s dive right into my review of IOPE Hyaluronic Serum, which may be very flattering for fragile folk. The product is meant to restore and strengthen the thin, broken barrier function of skin by activating its’ self-moisture retention. The company has invented particles of hyaluronic acid to penetrate swiftly and deeply into skin layers without triggering bad reactions.
1. Formulated with Capsules of Hyaluronic Capsules and Other Mild Hydrating Ingredients
It’s crystal clear about the essence’s formulation. The mighty ingredient is Hyaluronic Acid. I think we have been familiar with this, one of the most talked-about in skincare products. But, chief of which, let’s recap the importance of a protective barrier for beautiful skin. The outermost layer of skin, stratum corneum, has a horney layer which is “brick and mortar” constructed by two compartments. The corneocytes as the bricks are keratinized and consist of protein complexes.
In contrast, the intercellular lipids are the mortar binding to the cells and responsible for holding moisture, managing the permeability and restricting bacterial invasion. On top of that, the hydrolipidic (protective) film is a very thin layer that covers the skin surface (the epidermis), combats microorganism attacks and consists of sweat, sebum and water. This is sustained by the secretions from the sebaceous glands to provide skin’s softness, suppleness and emollient.
There are multiple reasons weakening the entire lipid barrier, such as genes, stress, anxiety, sleep deprivation, improper skincare routine, exposure to perils of environment. All of them can cause loosening lipids, leach away skin’s natural moisturizing factor and lead to painful, fatigue conditions. Also, result in an imbalance of sebum production by sebaceous glands. Then, hyaluronic acid is able to penetrate intensely into the skin layers to kick off self-recoverability, boost hydration, energize damaged cells, level up collagen synthesis and improve skin resilience.
Eventually, nurtures the protective film from the beneath and makes a velvety, supple look. The product is inclined to deliver a highly concentrated serum with plenty of Hyaluronic capsules, which contain micro-hyaluronic acid for fast absorption.
It’s safe and mild in the absence of fragrance, colorants and mineral oil. So, the essence is supposed to revitalize very delicate skins. Moreover, infused with the Laneige Water Balancing Activator™ contributes to balance out the permeability as well as diminish the transepidermal water loss. Laneige has been famed for its’ water science for beautiful, healthy-looking skin. It tends to leave a radiant, luminous complexion when skin stays moist.
Another ingredient is Rye Seed extract, which helps to soothe and alleviate the skin tiredness that is more likely to trigger aging signs, like wrinkles and fine lines. Additionally, the product consists of the White Birch juice or sap, which gives brightening and rejuvenating agents to increase the complexion vibrancy, no more dullness.
2. Gently Hydrating for Sensitive Skins
Obviously, the serum is very transparent with a gel texture and visibly, carries lots of tiny, slightly sparkling hyaluronic capsules. It’s extremely lightweight without a doubt and genuinely hydrating. This is the first time that I’ve ever seen something like this in a serum. It does look interesting though, like cute jellyfishes floating inside.
I usually take more than a couple of pumps to apply all over my face. When blending out, it seems to glide onto the surface and quickly sinks down into my skin. You may feel a bit greasy and tacky in the first few seconds. Absolutely leaves a clean, refreshing sensation afterward. My skin feels like drinking up, the essence astoundingly relieves its’ thirst.
The feelings that come along with it are nice and gentle, definitely go-to for sensitive skins. I used the essence at the time when my skin was dry, flaking and struggling with high sensitivity three months ago. There were many scaly patches and noticeable redness on my forehead, cheeks and chin. Undeniably, the Hyaluronic Serum doesn’t drive me insanely irritated as some other products do. It didn’t aggravate the redness, cause clogged pores or break me out. The product is amicable I can tell.
So, all I’m saying is about its’ positive sides. If you ask me, whether it has obviously made a leap to my condition since then. To be honest, I stopped utilizing the serum last month. This is not because I unexpectedly suffered allergic reactions to it. The point is hard to see any particular improvements.
The product is indeed mild and relaxing; otherwise, my skin was desperately flaky and dry. This might turn out to be tough. It wasn’t something fully locking my skin in moisture for all day. I switched to another serum with higher thickening and lubricating factors and waited to get back to it at some point when the situation has gotten better.
Recently, I’ve tried using it again, the essence’s soothing, hydrating effect is still adorable as it was and tends to smoothen and soften out my skin texture. Then, highly recommend the Hyaluronic Serum for delicate skins. However, for those who cope with severe dryness or flaking conditions like I used to, you may need to be patient with it, or, you can put extra layers of moisturizing cream on top. Bet oily, acne-prone skins will fall in love with it.
Like I said before, the serum is lightweight and gentle without harsh elements to cause excessive oil, breakouts or flare-ups. It can help to regulate overactive sebum production. Furthermore, normal and combination folk can feel free to go for it.
Regard to mature skins, I think the product maybe not be the best choice. Serums rather infused with a high amount of rejuvenating, anti-aging and moisturizing properties might be preferable. That is prone to vigorously dampen the appearance of oxidative stress, like wrinkles, fine lines, discoloration and hyperpigmentation.
After the Hyaluronic Serum, you still need an additional step of moisturizing cream to shield up the skin’s outermost layers against external aggressors. Sun cream is unavoidably crucial in the morning as well. Although it claims there is no included artificial fragrance, yet, the essence does have a very calming scent of a flower.
3. “Easy to Use” Packaging Design with a Pump
Housed into a tall, handy plastic transparent bottle with a pump, which helps to control the adequate amount I want to apply. Also, very sanitary and easy to use, no need to worry the bacteria and pollutants have chances to sneak into or the fluid will spill out. You can see the serum through it. The one I got here is the small size with 7 ml, whereas the full size is 45 ml. They both have the same packaging design.
4. My Rating (8/10): Highly Suggestive for Delicate Skins
The essence is really fine and loveable with a pleasant scent and amazing hydrating effect as a privilege for delicate, sensitive skins. I think most skin types can hold it tight for a promising healthy complexion. I’d like to give it 8 out of 10.
